‘I Puke Alone’ explores nausea in a horror element while using audio elements to juxtapose the grotesque and the sublime.

Referencing the sound design for the Batmobile in 2022’s ‘The Batman’, which took inspiration from slowing down a Justin Beiber song, to create an otherworldly and ethereal, yet distorted, impressionistic and expressionistic sound.

The diptych (meant to be presented in the dark) depicts a monolith speaker playing loud music that is slowed 800% and a tall silhouette entity beside it.

The result of this incomprehensible, droning, nauseous sound with rising screams paired with a still, elongated figure is an unsettling feeling of stepping into a liminal space.

I stand in the dark, I see a faint doorway into a new dimension that is either disturbing or transcendent. A gatekeeper to heaven or hell. I want to puke but I’m not alone.
